Madame Butterfly

Opera Bohemia, Scotland’s dynamic professional company, is delighted to announce further performances of Puccini’s masterpiece, Madame Butterfly. Their production, set in modern-day Japan, has already received a fantastic reception from packed audiences across Scotland and the company was invited to give a special performance of the opera at Middle Temple in London.

Scottish soprano Melanie Gowie stars as Cio-Cio San, singing the famous aria ‘Un bel di vedremo’ (One Fine Day). She leads a cast of some of Scotland’s finest young opera singers in this intimate production by John Wilkie. This tale of love, sacrifice and heartbreak promises to be a memorable night for opera lovers and newcomers alike.
