La Traviata

Scotland’s professional touring company, Opera Bohemia, returns with one of the world’s most loved operas, La Traviata. Featuring famous musical numbers like the Brindisi and Sempre Libera, Verdi’s masterpiece tells the tale of the famous courtesan Violetta, who commits the  cardinal sin of falling in love. Scottish favourite, soprano Catriona Clark and rising star tenor Thomas Kinch, lead a cast of some of Scotland’s finest home grown talent, including Aaron McAuley, making his company debut in the role of Germont, and star of Gianni Schicchi Andrew McTaggart who returns as Baron Douphol. This intimate and gripping new production by Douglas Nairne is not to be missed. The first 8 performances will be accompanied by piano and violin and the final 4 (Ayr, Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy and Glasgow) by the Opera Bohemia Ensemble under the baton of Musical Director Alistair Digges.  Sung in Italian with English surtitles.
